Job Title:  Senior Project Manager

 

Location:  Leeds, Gloucester, Guildford, London - Hybrid

Please note this is a Fixed Term Contract - Jan 2025 to Dec 2026

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Takes full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of medium-scale projects.
  • Provides effective leadership to the project team. Adopts appropriate project management methods and tools. Manages the change control process and assesses and manages risks. Ensures that realistic project plans are maintained and delivers regular and accurate communication to stakeholders.
  • Ensures project and product quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure.  Ensures that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are formally accepted, by appropriate stakeholders.
  • Monitors costs, time, quality and resources used and takes action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
  • Management of IT projects, typically involving the development and implementation of IT toolsets and related business processes to meet identified business needs, acquiring and utilising the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality.

  • Creatively applies innovative thinking for risk, issue and solution management.
  • Has a thorough understanding of recognised generic industry bodies of knowledge.
  • Rapidly absorbs and critically assess new information and applies it effectively.
  • Can work on a broad range of technical or professional activities in a variety of contexts.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or equivalent experience e.g. HNC / Prince 2 Foundation or practitioner / Computer Science Degree/MSP foundation or practitioner.
  • 3-5 years’ experience of working in a busy IT Department, or other relevant work experience
